The process group overview shows a high-level view of the processes it contains. The map will automatically arrange any published processes, or it can be manually designed with an end to end process view.
The process group title is what will be displayed in the map view and process sidebar.
Process champions are responsible for process improvement in a specific area of the organisation. They work in the area of governance with the organisation’s Lead Process Champions to deliver on the expectations set by the Exec Sponsor. This includes working with the process owners and experts who are responsible for capturing, improving and deploying great processes.
The background and objective sections are a clear description of what the processes aim to achieve and where they apply. They can also include notes on why the processes exist, context around any special circumstances that affect them or reference to legislation or regulations that might contribute to their purpose.
To create the overview map, use the [Add Link] button to add sub-groups, processes or decision points in a sequence.
Add a Group/Process
Select the sub-group or process from the organisation tree in the window, or select the [Create New Process] button to generate a new, empty process. You will need to go back to edit this process once you are finished with the overview.
Add a Conditional Process
Conditional processes recognise minor variations in the typical workflow. A conditional process is a step that may occur if certain variables are present. Add one by selecting the process from the organisation tree in the window, or choosing [Create New Process] to generate a new, empty process. You will need to go back to edit this process once you are finished with the overview.
Add a Decision
Decision points indicate significant breaks in the typical workflow. They provide a link to an alternative process if conditions mean the normal flow doesn’t continue.
Add a decision point from the [Add Link] button, and select the alternative outcome with the [Add Process] button. You can choose the process from the organisation tree in the pop-up window, or select [Create New Process] to generate a new, empty process instead. You will need to go back to edit this process once you are finished with the overview.
Indicate what the decision is in the text box. You can also choose whether the variation is a positive (i.e. on ‘if Yes’) or negative outcome to the decision. The original flow is continued as the alternative.
