Triggers, inputs and outputs help define the scope of your process and the important elements that contribute to it.

Triggers

These are the conditions that start your process or make it necessary.

Inputs

Inputs are the resources required to undertake your process. They can be linked to the process that provides them, or you can enter ‘n/a’ if they aren’t the product of an existing process.

Outputs

These are the resources produced and could go on to other processes. If they aren’t used again somewhere, you can add ‘N/a’ in the [To Process] field.

Performance Targets

Targets indicate the expected performance of the process. The [Measure] field describes what you hope the process will achieve, while the [Target] is the quantifiable definition of success – how you will recognise that the goal is met.
